Staci Elizabeth Gietz

She's here!! Wednesday night I "wanted to get things going" so I went for a little jog and then bounced on an aerobics ball for a little bit. Well that night I could not fall asleep for the life of me! My pelvic bones felt so sore. I figured it was due to the jogging or the bouncing, so I just wrote it off. The next morning I went to work as usual. I was there for about an hour when I went to the bathroom and realized that I was leaking. Hmmmm... So I called Kris and told him to grab the bag, my pillow, and food for him and meet me at the hospital. He was sleeping so he totally thought he was going to get to the hospital and it was going to be a false alarm. Well on the way to the hospital I was having pretty bad contractions. When I got there I checked in and they put me in triage to check me out (by the time I got to this point it was 9am). My water had broken but I was only a finger tip dilated. They called my doctor, admitted me and then gave me an epidural...I didn't want to feel a thing! Even after the epidural I could still feel some pain so they came back in to up my dose and to give me other narcotics. The nurse then checked me again and I was still only a fingertip dilated. But by then I was feeling great! I couldn't feel a thing so I just laid back and relaxed.

About an hour and a half later my doctor came in to check on me and what do you know...I was fully dilated and ready to go! I was shocked!! But I had so many drugs that I couldn't move anything, let alone push. So now it was a waiting game for the drugs to wear off a bit. My doctor was going out of town so he had to have someone else come. A little bummed but really...as long as we get her out I don't care. The nurse got me a mirror so I could see what was going on and I loved it! It really made me push cause I could see her head and I was so excited! And here she came! Staci was born on May 27, 2010 at 2:18pm weighing 6 lbs, 7 ozs, and 20.5 inches long.

She is so adorable (our opinion of course) and we just love her to death! We came home on Saturday morning and have been doing great! She is so fun to cuddle with and it still amazes me that I can call her mine. :)
