It started on Friday when Tere (my sister's mother-in-law) dropped them off at my house and the first thing Kayla asked me was "where are your toys?" Well, I had to just put a movie on for her while I changed Cade's diaper and tried to get him to stop crying when he realized I wasn't his mom. That night we went to Kris' mom's house so she could hold the baby. With no grand kids coming I figured this might be a way to get the baby hungriness out of her system. Then it was home and put the kids to bed. Also giving Kayla some medicine because she had a terrible cough and her nose was super runny.
Cade woke up bright and early at 5:30 the next morning ready for the day! He is so adorable that you cant help but do whatever you can to make him happy.

By about 9:30 I had breakfast done, Cade down for a nap, laundry in, dishes done, rooms cleaned, baby proofing the front room done, Kayla dressed and ready to go, and even had myself ready for the day. (Yes! I can do it!) We were planning on going to the zoo and on the way there Kayla was really coughing and so we decided to go back home and have her rest up and try to get better. That afternoon they both took naps. Quiet time for Amy was so needed. Conner (Kris' bro) was going through the temple that evening and I was so upset that I was not able to go. With Kayla being sick I felt bad asking anybody else to watch her. As long as I'm there for his wedding I figure that I am good. :) That night was a whole different experience putting the kids to bed. They didn't want to go to sleep! And with them sharing the same room they were keeping each other up. So Kris took Cade for a car ride so he would fall asleep...worked like a charm! We finally had them in bed and both asleep by 10. On Sunday they went back to Tere's house to stay with her until Trisha and Rusty came home on Tuesday. Here is Kayla after she ate an Oreo...haha!

It was a very hard and fun weekend. I must say that I give kudos to all of the moms out there. Good job on all that you do!

Thanks so much Amy!!! You're the best. But, I don't know what you're talking about. Kayla's nose is fine, there is no cough, Cade is just teething...and I'm so grateful to be a little bit more rested and tan! I owe you one! Trisha
Amy! I loved reading your entry especially since I'm a new mom and am struggling to get showered before noon. And, I thought I was ready to be a mom... not so much. I love my little Emily, but I definitely now respect moms SO much more.

Hey Amy! I loved reading this! I totally feel like I'm ready for kids some times and then I spend time with cranky kids and I'm grateful I don't have any yet. The time will come eventually! ;)
