We left on Jan 1 and flew to Honolulu, HI. We rented our car and went to the resort. This was the view from our room...can't complain too much about that one. :)
Saturday we woke up, went grocery shopping and then spent the day just lounging around the resort. I LOVE days like that! We both just read and had a nice relaxing day.Sunday we woke up early and went to Pearl Harbor. We decided to do the Arizona Memorial (Missouri was closed) and it was amazing! You watch a video about what happened there and then you are taken to the Memorial site. It's amazing the feeling you have when you are there. A really solemn place.

After that we went back to the resort for lunch and then went to the Dole plantation. It was really cool to walk around and what not but we really weren't there for long. We got our pineapple treats and left soon after. The pineapple was super yummy though! I think from now on I'll only be able to eat the fresh stuff.

Monday we decided to head up to the North Shore to check out the waves and beaches up along that side. The waves in Jan are amazing!! (In the picture below they aren't really that big...but the next time we went up they were huge.) We went up to Kahuku to get some shrimp at one of the famous places....being the van in the picture below. It looks scary but it was really good! We had so much that we are both good on not eating shrimp for awhile.

Tuesday we went to Diamond Head and hiked. It was so nice! It was a cloudy day so we decided to do something kind of leisurely. The view from the top was beautiful!

Wednesday we went to Waikiki to hang out. Kris rented a surfboard and went surfing and I just laid on the beach. It was fine at first but laying on a beach pregnant definitely is not the same. And as the day wore on the beach got so crowded and there were so many people smoking (only like maybe 5 but I have super smell strength right now and it was enough to drive me crazy!). I felt bad cause Kris wanted to stay longer but...I was done. Here is Kris paddling out on his surfboard. This was his first time and he caught the first wave he tried. He is a natural!

Thursday we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was so much fun! We had tickets to do all of the villages and for the show that night. We were debating doing the Luau but decided that we would save that money and go to Taco Bell. Next time. haha It was really fun to see all of the different cultures. I had to get a picture with the Figi sign since my grandparents went on their mission there. Definitely a must see when you go to Oahu. I wont post all of the pics on here (there are a ton!) so here are some highlights.

On Friday morning we had to check out by 10am but our plane didn't leave Oahu till 8pm. So the resort let us leave our luggage there and we went to a movie, lunch and to the outlet malls. We then flew to Kona and took the red eye back to Phoenix. I am so glad that there wasn't anyone else sitting in our row with us. Even then, I still couldn't sleep. I am still working on getting my sleep schedule back to normal...but it was worth it! Thanks mom and dad for letting us stay there. It was an amazing trip that we will remember forever.

It looks like you guys were able to really enjoy yourselves! How much fun to be able to get away and make some special & fun memories as just the two of you! Your belly is so stinkin' cute and I completely know what you mean about super smell... wow! Ha ha! Love you both!
PS- Where did you get your dresses? I'm dying to find some for cheap because clothing is just too restrictive anymore and those are like fashionable mumus (moo-moos?... however it's spelled).
