Happy 4th!

This past weekend we went up to Greer to stay with Kris' grandparents. It was a blast! We have gone up there quite a few times but for some reason this trip is at the top of my list. We left on Thursday evening and didn't get up there till like 10 or so that night. Friday morning Kris and I went for a bike ride and then we all went to the Eager 4th of July parade.

The little girl cousins were in the parade and got to wear pioneer outfits, they are so cute!
I thought that this float was great...18 cents a gallon!!

The big thing in the parade is that all of the floats throw out candy to the kids...yes even the big kids. :)

Okay so really I made him go out there and grab candy so that I could eat some during the parade. But it was still fun to see him try to run and get it before the kids did! HA!

Grandma just happened to have some fireworks sitting in her closet so we got to do poppers, sparklers, and Kris had a good 'ol time putting on a firework show for us all. (don't you love the fireworks he has in his pockets?!)

On Saturday we had a pretty chill day...read, napped, played cards, etc. Sunday morning a few of us set out to go hiking. We were hiking for awhile (well I guess you can say walking because we hadn't gotten to the steep part of the mountain yet), but we stopped to drink some water and eat a snack. We were then deciding if we should keep going or head back. I would have totally kept going except that it was thundering and I was so afraid that it was going to rain on us. I know it's just a little water but...It would be cold and I didn't want to get sick! So my vote was to go back. I felt bad because everyone wanted to keep going but...we ended up heading back. Well right when we started heading back it started raining. I was freezing!!! It took a hot shower and then wearing socks, a sweatshirt, and a blanket to finally get me back warm once we got back to the cabin...I just hope I don't get sick! Well its a good thing we headed back because by the time we got back to the truck we were all wet, Kris' knees were killing him and others were getting sore as well. Sometimes I guess its good to have a strong opinion. :)

It was so nice to get out of the heat for a little bit and into some cold, stormy weather for a change. I can't wait to go back! Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th!
