The curse of the quad...

**Warning: this blog contains some pictures that might not be suitable for those with weak stomachs**

Part I:
It all started a couple of weekends ago when Kris' brother (Conner) bought a quad. Conner and their dad decided they wanted to go riding on that Saturday morning. Kris wanted to go so I suggested that we borrow one of my dad's quads so he could go riding with them. We spent all night on Friday getting everything ready so he could go riding with them on Saturday morning. After riding for about an hour, the tire popped. He doesn't remember running over anything that would make it pop but needless to say his riding time was over. So we spent some of that afternoon looking for replacements for the tires. I felt bad because after all we went through he only got to ride for an hour.

Part II:
The next weekend the boys decided they wanted to do an overnight trip to the dunes so they could go riding again. Kris got the tires fixed and ready to go and they headed down to the dunes on Friday afternoon. I was enjoying my night of Amy time...I worked out, went to the bookstore, watched some of my recorded shows on the TV, and just did the things that I wanted to get done. I went to bed around 11, when the phone rang at 11:30. It was Kris telling me he was on the way to the hospital to get stitches. He had flipped over and hit the bar on the front part of the quad. I didn't think it was that big of a deal...until he sent me a picture the next day...

I felt SO bad for him! I wish that I was with him to give him a hug or at least be there for him! To add to the adventure and the good luck on the trip...as they were on the way back home, the wheel came off of the trailer just outside of Yuma. Someone was nice enough to pick them up, along with the quads, and take them back to his dad's office in Buckeye, in which they had to turn right around to go get the trailer. They were supposed to be home around 1ish and he didn't get home till around 10. Poor baby! Here is a picture of what his eye looked like on Sunday:
I am so thankful that he was wearing his goggles and helmet. I don't even want to think about what would've happened had he not been wearing them.

The boys are already planning another trip. I wonder what is going to happen next...

Maybe it's time Kris take up a different hobby. Golf perhaps?!?! Or maybe Chess! Something a little less dangerous. Or next time he needs to wear full body armor!
